BPP History Month
Today I was Oakland on BPP business, I finished putting the last touches on a few exhibits
already up and on display. After putting up posters for the event in Santa Rosa, I went by
and picked up Sister Barbara Cox who just came into town. The Political Prisoner event
sponsored by the Commemorator newspaper( Melvin Dickson) was well attended. I took a few
photos and it was good to see Elder Freemen on the set and looking strong.

Greetings All: It's About Time Committee and Underground Books are hosting Black Panther Party
History Month events. We want this to be an opportunity for Sacramento citizens to find out the
truth about the Legacy of the Black Panther Party. We will host a film series and will have a
photo exhibit of photos from the It's About Time Archives. We plan on having a panel called"
Women of the Struggle" with a number of Sisters that were in the BPP. We will have original
Panthers there from Sacramento and the National Office in Oakland. Elbert "Big Man" Howard
has agreed to attend. He was one of the original six Panthers and was the Deputy Minister
of Information and the BPP National and International spokesperson. We have invited some
local Sacramento Poets to participate.
Dates of events in Sacramento:
Thurday October 11th will be a film showing at the Underground @7pm
Friday October 19th and Saturday 20th program is being developed.

The exhibit will give students a chance to view the past struggles of students during those times.
The exhibit will be up before and during BPP History Month. Don't miss this display of rare and
hard to find newspapers.
