The exhibit is called Black Panther Party Revisited, photo exhibit will focus on Community Survival Programs of the BPP. There will be video showings and speakers. More info to come.

Exhibit to Start Oakland Main Library Oakland History Room January 14, 2008

From Liberation Schools to the
Oakland Learning Center Exhibit

This exhibit is in celebration of the Oakland Learning Center which was started 35 years ago in E. Oakland. The Black Panther Party started this school as a model for decent education. The Center housed a school which won awards for it's curriculum from the state Board of Education. The Learning Center served as an oasis in the Oakland community. Thousands of youth attended programs provided by the Black Panther Party at the Oakland Learning Center.




The reception for "The Liberation School to the Oakland Learning Center" will be held @ the W. Oakland Library. The Huey P. Newton Exhibit Reception will also be held @ the same time and location. Mark February 16th @ 1-4 come and show your support.
Come and meet staff members from the Oakland Community School.
A video on the Oakland Community School will be shown as well as videos with Huey P. Newton.
