WOMEN OF THE BLACK PANTHER PARTY

Panther Sisters Retreat 2005
June 3rd - 6th, 2005
St. Helena's Island

Greetings Panther Sister

We will be going back to the Arnett House on the Penn Center Campus in South Carolina. For those who have not attended previous retreats and would like to get a feel for the place go to:

www.co.beaufort.sc.us/bftlib/gullah2.htm
www.angelfire.com/sc/jhstevens/penncenter.html

The Arnett is an old renovated house, surrounded by oak tress with Spanish moss dangling from the branches. The Arnett house has 9 bedrooms which sleep 24,4bathrooms, living room, dinning room, kitchen and a large wrap around porch.

We want this retreat to be "A Pamper We" session. So we are putting out the call to all to breakout your skills, knowledge, expertise and sharing/caring spirit to help us make this a true healing weekend. We are hoping the call will yield from within our circle manicurist/pedicurist, skin care/beauty make over specialist, massage/reki and energy therapist, exercise/ yogi instructors, meditation/relaxation instructors, speaker session on health/nutrition, stress/depression/anger/ and the need to mentally heal.

Although we only have a few days everyone may not do everything. Doing what makes you feel good is the plan. It could be just sitting on the porch relaxing and being at peace with the world. Or bonding with old comrades and meeting comrades for the first time now. Or perhaps play a little Bid Wisk,Spades,Heart,... What we are talking here has been coined from previous retreat as "Zamani Time" or "Z-Time" ( The Nature of time, East Afrikans define as a notion that time loops back around on itself, giving you a sense of "I've been Here Before", or DÃjà vu. Things occur when everyone has arrived at the point of beginning. Things happen when they are meant to).

The following is a tentative schedule and as things develop you will be inform via e-mail or mail.

June 3 - We start to arrive after 12pm Friday. There will be a sister circle in the evening. June 4 - A pray and healing circle and cookout on Huntington Beach in the morning until noon. June 6 - Departure before 12pm. In the past some sisters' left Sunday evening.

Now down to some very serious Business. It is imperative that you not only respond ASAP to confirm your bed space but you must send your $100. If you need to send your payment in 2 installments send $50 now and the other half as soon as you can. We must make the deposit on Arnett House Right away. It is important we have a realistic head count for the purpose of meal planning and the possible need for the other house which can accommodate 32. June is only a short time away.

Travel. The closest airport is in Savannah, Georgia (about 50miles from St. Helena's Island). The next airport is Charleston, S.C. . . . Carpool several of us have done that in the pass and it was fun.

To help us secure the Arnett House please send your payment to: Jennifer Y. Sutton 112-50 Northern Blvd. Apt. 2D, Corona, NY 11368
