BLACK PANTHER PARTY
DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL


On October 16, 2004, between the hours of 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., at the Southern California Library for Social Studies and Research, located at 6120 South Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, California 90044, in commemoration of 38th Anniversary of the Founding of the Black Panther Party, a Black Panther Party Documentary Film Festival will be present the following documentary films on and about the Black Panther Party: "CHARLES GARY: STREET FIGHTER IN THE COURTROOM" [about the life of the famous Attorney who defended BPP Leadership in a number of high profile criminal cases] will be shown between 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.; "PASSING IT ON" [about the legal case of Dhoruba BinWahad, one of the New York Panther 21] will be shown between 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.; "COMRADE SISTER: WOMEN OF THE BLACK PANTHER PARTY SPEAK OUT" [about the role of women in the Black Panther Party] will be shown between 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.; and "AMERICAN EXILE" [The Story of Pete, and his wife Charlotte, O'Neal, leaders of the Kansas City Chapter of the BPP and their forced exile to Tanzania in Africa] from will be shown from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.


A brief discussion, questions and answers, regarding each film will follow each showing.


This educational activity is being sponsored jointly by the NEW PANTHER VANGUARD MOVEMENT and the SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA LIBRARY FOR SOCIAL STUDIES AND RESEARCH.


Free admission and Refreshments will be served. Donations to cover the expenses of holding this event will be requested and very much appreciated.
