the writings and speeches of Safiya Bukhari, will be published by the Feminist
Press on Feb. 1 2010 (see http://www.feministpress.org/
books/safiya-bukhari/war). Wonda and I invite you to any and all of the
following NYC events (and stay posted for others — or set them up and tell
us!):
Monday, Feb. 1st, 7 pm
— Barnes&Noble Upper West Side (Broadway at 82nd St.), Manhattan
— "Black Women, Black Freedom with Wonda Jones, Laura Whitehorn ,
Jeanne Theoharis and Komozi Woodard" (they are editors of a new book
called "Want to Start a Revolution? Radical Women in the Black Freedom
Struggle") — this event will likely last only about an hour and a bit ( http://store-locator.

Wednesday, Feb. 3
— Launch party for "The War Before" and celebration of Safiya Bukhari
— hosted by Safiya Bandele at Medgar Evers (1650 Bedford Ave., Brooklyn) — 6 to

Friday, Feb. 5
— reading and discussion at Bluestockings radical bookstore, 172 Allen Street
between Stanton and Rivington, Manhattan. Not sure of the time; probably 7....
Saturday, Feb. 13th
— celebration of Safiya Bukhari and "The War Before" at the Brecht
Forum, 451 West Street (between Bank & Bethune Streets, Manhattan.
