Assalaamu Alaikum (Greetings of Peace):

After having Surah Yasin recited to him by two community leaders, Br. Ed Brown, a well respected civil rights activist, and the older brother of Imam Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, passed away at his home in Atlanta, Georgia. Inna lilahi wa inna illahi rajioon. (From ALLAH we come, and to Him is our return.)

The janaza (last rites) will be held tomorrow, following salatul dhur (about 1:00) at the Community Masjid (547 West End Place) on the West End of Atlanta. Insha'Allah, we will release a biographical statement on Ed Brown and his sterling legacy in the coming days

May ALLAH forgive his sins, and bless him with a smooth transition to Paradise. Ameen.
